For children ages 5-6, our kindergarten enrichment program focuses on social studies, science, language, reading, and more. It's an excellent program to build on their foundational knowledge and encourage a deeper understanding of the world around them.
The Enrichment Program is tailored for children who have successfully completed at least two years in our program. Within the Primary classrooms, the third year serves as the pinnacle of academic, practical life, and sensorial concepts. Our Kindergarten Enrichment Program is designed to build upon the foundational skills and concepts that the children have developed in our Primary program.
11am - 1:30pm (Monday-Thursday)
The children begin the day in their Primary (3-6) classes for advanced math and language work before moving down the hall to the Enrichment class. They dine together, learn about nutrition, and grace and courtesy.
Our KE Program is designed to provide our children with a solid academic foundation while continuing to nurture their love for learning, independence, and creativity. Our students graduate kindergarten equipped with self-esteem, leadership qualities, social and academic competence, and a love for learning. They are well-prepared for traditional educational settings while retaining their intrinsic motivation to excel.
The Enrichment program bridges the independence and self-discipline of the Primary Montessori classroom with the traditional style of education.

Through fun discussions and hands-on activities, children learn about the major food groups, how to make healthy choices, and where our food comes from. They explore fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy, and grains while discovering how balanced meals fuel their growing bodies.
(Classroom Event: Nutrition Luncheon)

This unit helps children understand how their bodies work! They study the major organs and systems — including the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, and respiratory systems — and see how they all work together to keep us healthy and strong.
(Classroom Project: Build Your Own Skeleton)

In this fascinating unit, students explore the world’s oceans and the incredible creatures that live beneath the surface. They study marine animals, food chains, and ecosystems while learning about conservation and how to protect our oceans. Interactive projects and a visit to the aquarium bring the lessons to life.
(Field Trip: Shedd Aquarium)

Children take a deep dive into the Animal Kingdom, learning to classify animals into major groups such as fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds, and mammals. They study animal habitats, adaptations, and life cycles through real-life observations and activities that encourage respect for all living creatures.
(Classroom Event: Reptile Show)

In this unit, children explore the wonders of our Solar System — from the blazing Sun to the distant outer planets. They learn about the planets’ unique characteristics, the Moon’s phases, and how astronauts travel and live in space. Through projects like building their own Solar System models and studying the Moon’s surface, students deepen their understanding of astronomy and our place in the universe.
(Field Trip: Adler Planetarium)

Our Earth Science unit invites children to study the structure and geology of our planet. They explore the layers of the Earth — the crust, mantle, and core — and learn how tectonic plates shift and shape the land. Through hands-on experiments, they discover different types of rocks and how volcanoes and fossils are formed. This unit builds a foundation for curiosity about the natural world.
(Classroom Project: Make Your Own Earth Model)

This meaningful unit helps children understand and appreciate the rich history and traditions of Native American peoples. They explore how Native communities lived in harmony with the land, using natural resources for food, shelter, and clothing. The unit highlights the beauty and diversity of Native cultures through stories, art, and geography.
(Field Trip: Field Museum of Natural History)

Children learn the basics of geography and how to read and create maps. They study continents, landforms, and biomes while exploring how maps and globes help us understand the world. Students practice using map keys, symbols, and scales to design their own maps.
(Classroom Activity: Make Your Own Map)

In this cultural studies unit, students travel the world — discovering the geography, wildlife, climate, and traditions of each continent. They learn about the diversity of people and cultures while developing global awareness and appreciation for our shared planet.
(Classroom Event: International Feast | School Event: South America Studies – Rainforest Play)

Children build fluency and confidence in reading, writing, and communication. Through phonics, guided reading, and creative writing, they expand vocabulary, strengthen sentence structure, and learn to express ideas clearly. Students practice journaling, sight words, and storytelling while developing a lifelong love of language.

Our math curriculum helps children develop strong number sense and problem-solving skills. Students explore addition, subtraction, and place value through hands-on materials and real-world applications. They measure, graph, and compare data, work with coins and shapes, and discover patterns that make math meaningful and fun.

Every year, our KE class showcases the Annual Rainforest Play, with each child assigned a unique role. They put on a beautiful performance in front of their peers and parents.
Please see the fantastic Rainforest Play performed by our Kindergarten Enrichment students!
They proudly showcased what they've been learning to their peers, parents, and teachers. It was a great opportunity for them to share their knowledge and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
